Mr. Window’s Staff

Mick Widmeyer, President and Owner
Mick Widmeyer opened the Mr. Window Co. for business since 1987. Mick has made a career of the home remodeling business. His father owned and operated Hoosier Home Improvement, in its day, one of the largest remodeling companies in the Midwest. Prior to starting his own company, he worked for his brothers in their home remodeling business. Mick brings his considerable talent, training, and family upbringing in the remodeling business to the table for each and every Mr. Window customer. The home remodeling business isn’t just a job. It’s in his blood.

“The most rewarding thing about being in this business,” Mick says, “is the sense of accomplishment and pride that come with doing great work for our customers. I also enjoy the opportunity to meet people in a casual setting — in their homes — and getting to know them. We’re not only in the business of selling and installing windows, siding, and doors, we’re in the people business, too.”

Mick believes it’s the extra touches, the little things that truly differentiate Mr. Window from the competition and best define his approach to business. Things like concern for customers being shown by Mr. Window installers taking down drapes and blinds and putting them back up upon completion of a window installation job. And moving furniture back into place. Things like the owner’s personal involvement in every Mr. Window job: Mick reviews all Mr. Window orders the day measurements are taken by his sales staff and will make recommendations on other products and specifications should he envision a better solution for the job. Things his customers really appreciate.

Mr. Window’s integrity is directly connected to the company’s rate of referrals. “Honesty is the truly the best policy to have in business,” Mick notes. “Unfortunately, it’s not as common as it should be. With us, it’s the only way we do business. Our customers and Angie’s List ratings attest to that.”

Shane Johnson, General Manager
Prior to joining Mr. Window, Shane worked as a funds processor at American Funds Group, which hints at the attention to detail he brings to Mr. Window. In his work today as Mr. Window’s general manager, Shane is responsible for the ordering and scheduling of Mr. Window products and installations, job costing, purchasing, accounting, human resources, information technology, and overseeing the overall operation.

His management duties also encompass providing excellent customer service, whenever an opportunity exists. “I always try to be as responsive to our customers’ needs and help in any way I can,” Shane relates. “I treat every Mr. Window customer as if he/she is our best customer — because we appreciate the business we receive from all of our customers.” And if the salesperson or installer is unavailable, Shane has been known to leave the Mr. Window Showroom to help out with customer service calls and repairs. He’ll also pick up materials for installers, should the need arise, so that installation work isn’t disrupted and the job is delivered on time, as promised.

Shane has no problem promoting Mr. Window as a product and service provider. Just ask him. “We have some of the best installers in the business and invest in quality materials and products because we care about our work and our customers. Our reputation is very important to us, which is reflected in our workmanship.”

Mike Sullivan, Sales Manager
Mike hails from Brownsburg, Indiana. Previously, he worked for Rembrandt Remodeling in Marietta, Georgia, selling decking, roofing, kitchen remodeling products, replacement windows, siding, and doors.

Mike maintains that outstanding salesmanship requires a complete understanding and execution of the sales process. This means having a presence and level of involvement in the sales transaction uncommon today, and which he believes his customers deserve. This requires providing service before, during, and after the installation is made. Mike points out that follow-up with his Mr. Window customers is especially important. “With many companies, you never see the salesperson after the sale is made,” he says. “With us, follow-up is a distinct part of the process. We want to be sure that the job has been completed to the customer’s satisfaction.”

Mike adds, “Mick wants us to guide our work by his motto, and embrace it as our own: ‘If you treat people right, the word gets around.’ We offer a high-quality product at a fair price with excellent service. You won’t see Mr. Window billboards or TV commercials or radio jingles from us for that very reason — his philosophy has worked since 1987.”

Mike Louden, Field Engineer
Mike has worked for Mr. Window since 1994, and has been installing windows and doors for the past 20 years. As Mr. Window’s lead installer, Mike manages the installation worksite, as well as makes service calls. He is particularly adept at measuring, the precision of which is the foundation of every successful window and door installation. He also pitches in with inventory control and unloading trucks delivering product to the Mr. Window office prior to installation.

Mike’s expertise as an installer is derived from his years of work in the field prior to joining Mr. Window. Mike performed installations for many remodeling firms specializing in replacement window and door sales and installations.

Mike is a lifelong student of continuous improvement. No matter how many windows and doors he’s installed during his career (“too many to count,” he says), he has one objective for each new job: “I try to make my next project better than the last one.” Mike’s service orientation is a great fit with Mr. Window’s. For example, he’ll do the measurements for Mr. Window jobs at night or during the weekend to accommodate customers’ schedules. Mike’s work embodies the pursuit of perfection.

In an industry where installers have little company loyalty — and companies themselves offer little in return — Mike’s long-term relationship with Mr. Window is a remarkable story, for all concerned. He attributes it to this: “Mick Widmeyer is fair and respects his employees and customers.” In turn, Mike is hard working, honest, dependable, friendly, and interested in delivering high quality craftsmanship at all times.

This winning combination of sales and service is what truly differentiates Mr. Window from the rest of the pack. And why our customers have named us an Angie’s List Super Service Award winner for five consecutive years.
